About H.E.A.R.T.
At VIP, we ask every client “How can we help you?” The responses we get are often outside of the realm of traditional medical or mental health care but are just as crucial to the success of a family, such as emergency housing for a mom and her children, transportation to attend medical and mental health appointments, or plastic surgery for victims of physical abuse.
H.E.A.R.T. is a membership group that works to raise funds for and offer support to the child victims of abuse receiving services at VIP. Through annual memberships and donations, H.E.A.R.T. members raise funds to cover the costs of the “essential nonessentials” that allow VIP’s families to continue on their path to healing. Comprised of passionate advocates, professionals and philanthropists, H.E.A.R.T. members have created a community dedicated to making a thoughtful impact on the lives of abused children and the caregivers who strive to keep them safe.
This can be anything from clean clothes, new underwear and shoes, a warm coat, blankets to help keep warm at night, a safe place to sleep, a new pair of glasses, food, school supplies, even first and last month’s rent – all the tangibles that they need to move their lives forward. H.E.A.R.T. is about more than just raising money, it is about creating community – a community of advocates who pool their creative talents to find ways to help children and families recovering from abuse.
Our H.E.A.R.T. members are the magic behind VIP’s continued growth and success. There is no underestimating the impact that our members have on the lives of our children and their families; it is real and we see it every day.
To teach our children the impact of helping others is our greatest legacy;
