Privacy and SMS Texting Policy

Effective Date: July 1, 2026

VIP Community Mental Health Center values your privacy. This policy explains how your information is collected and used, and sets out the specific terms that apply when you opt in to receive SMS (text) messages from us. This statement is available at the bottom of each page of our website.

A note on health information: Protected health information (PHI) that VIP maintains as a healthcare provider is governed by our Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Notice of Privacy Practices and applicable California law, including the Confidentiality of Medical Information Act (CMIA). This website Privacy Policy applies to information collected through our website and does not modify or replace our Notice of Privacy Practices.

Part I: Privacy Policy

Categories of Information We Collect

This notice applies to information collected or submitted through our website. Depending on how you interact with our site, we may collect:

  • Information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, mailing address, telephone or mobile number, and any information you include when you contact us or complete a form on our site.
  • Information collected automatically, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and similar usage data, which may be collected through cookies or comparable technologies.

We do not knowingly collect more information than is necessary for the purposes described below.

The Way We Use Information

We use the information you provide to contact you about your request, services, or communications you have subscribed to. We use return email addresses to answer the messages we receive from you and for our communications. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with outside parties except as described in this policy. We never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to those described above without also providing you the opportunity to opt out or otherwise stop such unrelated uses.

Categories of Third Parties

We may share information with service providers who perform functions on our behalf (for example, website hosting, email delivery, or messaging platforms) solely to provide the services described in this policy. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Reviewing or Changing Your Information

You may review, update, or request changes to the personal information you have provided to us by contacting us using the information in the “How to Contact Us” section below. We will respond to your request consistent with applicable law.

Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting that lets you signal a preference not to have your online activity tracked. Our website does not currently respond to DNT signals, and we treat all visitors’ information in accordance with this policy regardless of any DNT setting.

Our Commitment to Data Security

To prevent unauthorized access and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. Our efforts to secure this data are ongoing.

Our Commitment to Children’s Privacy

Children’s privacy is especially important. We never knowingly collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are under 13, and our website is not structured to attract anyone under 13. Health information relating to the minors we serve is handled as PHI under HIPAA and CMIA, as described above, rather than under this website Privacy Policy.
